This is the poker end of one of the UK's largest gambling.. sorry - "betting and gaming", groups. They started as a sportsbook, and like most other sportsbooks are now grabbing thier piece of the Internet poker boom. They did this by teaming up with Prima (the poker side of Microgaming - one of the big casino software providers). A lot of online casinos us Prima software and they combine into a fairly large large poker site.
Players are surprisingly tough for all the casino player that presumably hang out on Prima. I'm not sure why or how, but there it is. They're still a fairly typical bunch of online players, but you have been warned not to expect to run all over these games just because it's a casino's poker site. There are enough players so there's never a problem finding a decent game (although a surprising amount of the action is No Limit - I think it's because of the casino influence).
Prima's software is nice. It runs very smoothly, and is well laid out. I like the huge chat box - it is the height of the window, so has plenty of space for a full hand history and a conversation - in different colours, so it's easy to keep track of what has been said. The buttons are in fairly logical places (although the middle one changes from "check" to "call" rather quickly, so pay attention if you're not using the auto-action check boxes but want to play fast)
I think the email support staff work for Prima, rather than the individual skins, because they understand poker, and poker players. They aren't the fastest support team out there, but they do give relevant answers, so that's the important thing, usually.
I'm not sure how the tournaments work on Prima, I think the skins combine for most / all of the tournaments, as there are a lot more guaranteed tournaments than I'd expect a casino's poker room to run, and a lot more players entering them.
Bet365 has added a solid poker room to their sportsbook empire and are worth checking out.
